    Have you ever really thought about music? We listen to it every day but do we ever really think about it? Have you ever thought "hmmmm that is a nice tone of music played by a 6th 8th of a string." or do we say "wow that's a cool note"? Music was invented by one of the super smart grand old dead dudes of olden times (ssgoddoot). The Story goes along the lines of this; The ssgoddoot went out one day and found a string. "I wonder what will happen if I tie one end to a bent stick  and the other end of the string to the other end of the stick?" thought the ssgoddoot. He did just that and was surprised to learn that it produced a melodious note. Then he found a smaller string on the ground. He repeated the process and learned that it made a higher sound. The ssgoddoot was also a math genius so he decided to turn it to math. First he measured the first string and made this the center. Then because 8 was his favorite number he made eight different notes by cutting stings of the following length 1/8, 2/8, 3/8, 4/8, 5/8, 6/8, and 7/8 (he already had 8/8) He arranged them on a wooden curve and called it a harp. This was the beginning of all organized music. So sometime soon when you are jammin' out on your iPod or listen to the radio in the car you should be thankful for the ssgoddot the found a string.
